The Cheese That Changed My Life

Image
Have you ever had Boursin cheese? This cheese is so amazing that the first time I had it my boobs got bigger..well not really…at least in my mind they did. That’s how amazing this cheese is. It makes you believe that the impossible is possible. Ever since I first tried this cheese I have made it my mission in life to share it with the world. I bring it to dinner parties, wedding & baby showers, birthday parties and I force feed people into trying it while I stand next to them saying “isn’t it amazing? Isn’t it the best cheese you’ve ever had? It’s changing your life right now isn’t it? Quick, check your boobs, are they getting bigger?” It’s a soft cheese, you’ll need a cheese knife. I prefer the herb & garlic flavor spread on a cracked peppercorn cracker...delicious...my mouth is salivating right now. And today must be a really good day because I just received an email that will change my mashed potato experience FOREVER. Boursin Mashed Potatoes – Ahhhhh, I hear angels rejoicin...

All Hail the New King

Image
The People (as in People magazine) have spoken and they have announced their new King (as in sexiest man alive for 2009) and the winner is…..Johnny Depp. Hugh Jackman sat in the throne over the past year and I think we can all agree that he was a good King. Remember that scene in Wolverine? Yes, you know the one I’m talking about…see he was a good King wasn’t he and now he is passing the crown to Johnny Depp, the well deserved recipient. Johnny Depp is badass. He’s so badass that he can have a scarf coming out of his back pocket and look cool. So cool that instead of mocking his fashion sense, the world bows down to his awesomeness. Depp just secured his paycheck for the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie at just over $30 million. Yes, you read that correctly, $30 million. But he shares well. It has been recently reported that Depp is helping out his friend Nicolas Cage with his financial issues; He uses his riches to help the poor. This makes him a generous King. It’s a good thing ...

Live Feeds and Holy Matters

Image
The holy trinity, also known as Rob, Kristen and Taylor, the leads in New Moon, were fresh off their European promotional tour and back in L.A. for the official star studded premiere of New Moon. Earlier in the afternoon I found out through my twitter feed that the Twilight MySpace page was going to be broadcasting the red carpet via a live feed. Originally I had no interest in watching this. I figured I’d just look at the pictures tomorrow online, but then 7:00 pm hit and it took everything in my body to not go to the computer to check out the live feed. I was compelled to watch it. My nosiness level was at an all time high. I wanted to see if Rob & Kristen would be on the red carpet together (which they didn’t, they didn’t even pose together). I wanted to see if Taylor Swift would show up (she didn’t). I wanted to see what other celebrities would come out of the woodwork and show the rest of the world that they were Twilight fans too…and by the way..strangest woodwork appearance ...

Becoming a Big Girl

Image
I’m sure the first time I noticed Dakota Fanning was the first time you noticed her too back in 2001 when she starred as “Lucy” Sean Penn’s seven year old daughter in I Am Sam. It’s a trip to watch the trailer now and see how young she was then, which by the way was only 8 years ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EROTbDCr5ag Crazy, right? She was so good in that movie. It was kind of amazing to watch her. She was seven years old when she that movie came out. Seven…when I was seven I’m sure I was trying to remember that eating play doh wasn’t good for you and she was spending her days with Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer. And she wasn’t just the token cute kid that has a few lines; she had a huge part in it where she had to express true emotions. At the time she was seen as a bit of a child prodigy because of how good she actually was. Dakota’s performance in I am Sam really set her up in the movie business. After that film she appeared in the sci-fi miniseries, Taken, directed by St...

It's Saturday Night and I'm Almost Famous

Image
It’s Saturday night and my only plan is to sit on the couch and veg. I turn the TV on, start going through the program guide, nothing, nothing, nothing…oh, “Almost Famous, “ I love that movie, I think I’ll stay put and watch it. Kate Hudson is great in this movie, isn’t she? She played the ultimate band aid. I wonder if “band aids” still exist. Do they still follow the bands around from city to city, partying with them, watching the concert from the side stage night after night? Imagine getting to do that. Even just for one week. Back in the day they were groupies, totally acceptable to the scene. People that follow bands around now from city to city have a new name….stalkers. The plot of the movie as described by IMDB goes like this: William Miller is a 15 year old kid, hired by Rolling Stone magazine to tour with, and write about Stillwater, an up and coming rock band. Can you imagine if that kid was you? Like holy shit. Going on the road with your favorite rock band to write a story...

Hey Joe, It’s been awhile

Image
Remember this guy? He was the kid on that T.V. show 3rd Rock from the Sun back in the 90’s. I vaguely remember having a crush on this guy. I remember watching that movie “Angels in the Outfield” over and over again. I loved that movie. He was also in that movie “Ten Things I Hate About You” with Heath Ledger. He played the nerdy kid that was always ditched for the more popular person and never got the girl. Oh god he was cute in that movie, right? At that time Joseph Gordon Levitt (we'll call him JGL) was at that awkward stage in life, transitioning from a teenager to an adult, lingering in a place that most child actors can never come out of. He could have easily dropped off the face of the earth, in fact some people might suggest that he did, but that’s not the case at all. He did take a hiatus from full time acting from 1999-2004 while attending Columbia University all the while keeping his feet wet by doing a few guest appearances a year in TV. Although we haven’t heard a lot o...

Up in the Air

Image
I am in love with this movie and I haven’t even seen it yet. The expected release date for “Up in the Air” is Christmas Day, December 25th; however I have been hearing that reviews are so good, like potential Oscar nominations good, that they might move the release date up. Not sure, will keep you posted. The first time I saw the trailer I felt a sense of Déjà vu, then it hit me, I totally had this exact conversation with my boss back when I first started working. I was so much like Anna Kendrick’s character Natalie. Fresh out of University with the business suites (such a grownup / take me seriously look, non?) and all of the naivety in the world but not recognizing even an ounce of it. I was focused and driven, but I didn’t have any idea what I wanted to be doing in my career, I just knew that I wanted to be good at it. Then you work for a few years…..you gain that experience and things change. Life happens, other things become far more important and you realize that everything you t...
