Love Actually


Love begins and love ends. Love Actually is all around us. That is the premise to this movie. My god it’s a good movie. It follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely and interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England. Almost the entire cast is made up of the greatest British darlings of acting. Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley, Liam Neeson, Bill Nighy…the list goes on and on.

This movie came out in 2003 and it has become a Christmas tradition for me, much like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, but instead of only making me excited for Christmas it picks me up and takes me away to the land of love and true romance, especially with Colin Firth’s character. If you don’t know what I mean then you seriously must watch this movie.

It’s probably mostly a chick flick but dudes can enjoy it as well. It has some wicked British humor, and the placement of certain songs throughout the movie will cut straight through your heart, especially Dido’s Here with Me…epic part in the movie…epic.     I just wrote about this being a holiday fav of mine as well...among others...but i do love this movie. nice post :)

I have been so out of touch lately. I apologize. I miss my blogging. As you know, one of my favorite things to do is think. Think, think, think. One Year No Radio

This week I’m celebrating my one year anniversary living without music radio. That’s right…I said celebrating. Don’t get me wrong, I still listen to music, and plenty of it…but since I removed the radio from my daily routine I am no longer bombarded with contests, terribly annoying advertisements, songs on far too high of a rotation or over the top excessive radio personalities. I do listen to the news radio station but only to receive traffic updates and road reports. Other than that…my life has been freed from it. I spend a lot of time in my car. A LOT. This is because I live in the burbs and have no choice but to commute. Honestly, I don’t mind the commute. It’s my ‘me’ time in the day. It’s the time when I do my best thinking. Unplug

Have you ever tried to kick your caffeine habit? Have you ever tried to leave your cell phone and computer at home when you go on vacation? I am attempting to do both. Recently, under a doctor’s recommendation, I have been advised to kick my caffeine addiction. I never really drank a ton of coffee I just really enjoy my one or two cups in the morning during the week day and my three or four cups on the weekends. The first week was the roughest. Honestly, I wanted to rip out of my own skin and start scaling the walls. I didn’t realize how addicted I was until I was forced to stop. I’ve never been a smoker but I imagine it’s kind of the same feeling. I’m on to caffeine free tea now. It’s a substitute I will have to live with for awhile.
