We Have Finally Reached the Acceptance Stage...Let’s be Friends

Most people don’t really like Kristen Stewart. They find her bitchy, ungrateful, messy and unapproachable. I love this chick.I could be friends with her, easily. She is independent, sassy and fierce and she has her own rockin’ sense of style. Let’s not forget…she’s 19 years old. She’s trying to figure herself out and attempting to do that in the public eye. Can you imagine if everything you did during your University years was publicized on Entertainment Tonight or People.com daily. Or if your relationships, whether they are real or fabricated, were cover stories in gossip magazines. Oh God…how embarrassing that must be.I can't even think about it. It would suck a lot of the time. I completely understand why she is so guarded with her personal life.

If you saw any press interviews with her from last year you’ll notice that she was really awkward. I mean, REALLY awkward. It was painful to watch at times. I often did that thing when you feel embarrassed for someone else..you cringe, biting your lips and covering your face with your hands, repeating the words "oh god, this is embarrassing",over and over again,as if that will somehow magically make the situation any better for them. She had such a hard time expressing what she was trying to say and she fumbled on her words all the time. The media gave her such a hard time about this. They were the ones that labeled her as "moody" or "bitchy" and everyone else just ran with that. I’ll admit that I wasn’t too sure about her either. In interviews with the press she seemed pissed off most of the time…or stoned. It seemed like she had a hard time being gracious with the public…the people that made her a star.

As part of the New Moon promotion tour, Kristen Stewart emerged last week as a confident, polite, well spoken young woman. She’s still sassy and fierce, but she’s much more certain of herself. It seems as though she decided to give up on the denial and anger of becoming and ‘instant’ star and has moved to the acceptance stage. She seems to have reached a sort of “comfort zone” with the situation and can deal with it much better. She has been very upfront about the fact that she doesn't like it when people tell her what to say or how to act. For the first Twilight film she was supposed to take part in media training but basically told the studio to "F&%$ Off". Taylor Lautner on the other hand took the training. You can tell. He's the current Sumit show boy. Anyone that knows media training can pick this up when watching interview with Taylor. He knows how to bring non related questions back to the film he is promoting. He knows how much to give away and how to keep the audience intrigued. Job well done on the PR firm that trained him. He'll rebel someday..you'll see. But anyway, back to Kristen.

She has been in the business for 10 years already. Her first big break was staring as Jodie Foster’s daughter in “Panic Room”. She is a staple in the independent film scene, starring in movies like "Into the Wild" & "Speak" and that is where she likes to be.This is her comfort zone. She was never groomed to be a blockbuster movie star so I can understand why it took her a bit of time to adjust. But she made it and although she has been working for the past ten years, this is just the beginning for her.

The picture above was taken today in Paris at a photo call. Love the dress, love the hair, love the makeup. Lainey had a great post today (http://www.laineygossip.com/Kristen_Stewart_Robert_Pattinson_Taylor_Lautner_with_Chris_Weitz_at_hotel_balcony_in_Paris_.aspx?CatID=0&CelID=0) about how the fans now treat them like royalty. Standing on balconies…waving to their loyal followers. Next, people will be asking them to bless their babies. I’m being totally serious here. These fans are hard-core.

It will be interesting see what happens to Kristen, and Rob and Taylor for that matter after all of the Twilight movies have been filmed and released. Will the fans let go of their obsession with these characters after Bella, Edward and Jacob fade off the page? Will this all go away? Maybe...maybe not. In the meantime, she's keeping it real and I love her for that.
